Our family story

The house we grew up in.
A place we share.

Our father built this villa and made much of the furniture by hand. Our mother turned it into a home and tends the garden. In 2013, we opened our doors to guests.

Today, our own children play here too. We hope you will make treasured memories of your own, and return to make more.

Beyond the garden gate

Gentle walks.
Big adventures.

The Byala Reka eco-trail

Less than a kilometre from the villa, the scenic Byala Reka eco-trail follows the river through rocks, greenery and foaming cascades. Allow around 2 hours 30 minutes for the 1.83 km trail, including breaks and photos, and wear suitable footwear for the steps and uneven ground.

02 · Culture and quiet

Kalofer and the monasteries

The Nativity of the Mother of God Monastery, founded in the 17th century, is about a 5-minute walk from the villa. Around 40 minutes away on foot, the Intercession of the Mother of God Skete sits on a rocky outcrop visible from the villa. Kalofer is just 5 km away, with the Hristo Botev Museum, Bulgarian Revival heritage and plenty more to explore.

03 · For hikers

Into the high Balkan Mountains

The scenic hike to Ray Hut starts in the Panitsite area near Kalofer and takes around 4–4½ hours each way, depending on your pace and breaks. The hut sits beneath the dramatic Rayski Skali cliffs, close to Rayskoto Praskalo waterfall. Allow a full day for the return trip, start early and plan for the weather and your fitness. Experienced hikers can continue towards Botev Peak, a route that requires extra time and good preparation.
